Race Format

Our race format ensures excitement for competitior and spectator alike.

The Race Format for this coming season has undergone an overhaul.

2016 2017 - Race Format
Cars are to be split into 4 groups.
The ELF Super Cup final positions from last season will determine the groups for the first round of the Vertex Super Cup and from there on the previous rounds finishing order will determine the groups and the grid positions.

Each group will race the other 3 groups.
3 heats for each group.
Each heat is a 12 lap race.
Round 1 A v B and C v D
Round 2 A v C and B v D
Round 3 A v D and B v C

If there are more than 22 cars then top 4 from each group to feature race. The remaining cars to repecharge.
Repecharge (If more than 22 cars)
Remaining drivers who were unsuccessful in making it to the feature will head to the repecharge.
Grids will be determined on points.
First six to go to the feature, a total of 22 in the feature.
Those who do not make the feature still receive place points from 23 on.
Pole Shuffle
In the Pole Shuffle the highest positioned driver has lane choice.
Drivers placed eighth and seventh on points challenge first over two laps; with the defeated driver starting from Grid 8. The winning driver is challenged by the sixth placed driver; with the defeated driver starting from Grid 7. The Shuffle continues until Grids 3 through 8 are decided. The winner of the final race to decide the front row has lane choice for the Feature.

30 laps
Grid 1 - 8 based on pole shuffle results
Grid 9 - 20 highest to lowest points.
All drivers will gain points and passing points based on their finish.
Bonus Points
As a bonus the drivers in Grid 1 and 2 have the option to go to the rear.
If both drivers go to the rear they receive a bonus payment of $10 per car passed. If only one goes to the rear the bonus payment is $20 per car passed.
Passing points remain the same.
One or both drivers will also receive 30 points for heading to the rear.
Any wild card drivers not part of the series are not entitled to points or points money. They are eligible for trophies on the night.
The finishing results for the night will determine the grids for next round.
